Our Curriculum is designed to enable every student to maximise their potential and broaden their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. As such, timetables are personalised to cater for individual needs and aspirations.
In Year 7, students are set according to Key Stage 2 SATs data. A student’s set may vary depending on their ability within that subject area. The sets are flexible and students are periodically moved in line with their progress.
In Year 7, 8 and 9 some students will be able to study both French and German.
At Key Stage 4 students can select from a variety of options that combine with the compulsory subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, PSHVE and Physical Education.
Timetable Plan
There are 30 fifty minute periods per week. Therefore the school spends 25 hours per week on teaching, excluding assemblies, registration periods and breaks. The Government recommends a minimum of 24 hours. We also run enhancement lessons after school.
